For families

Traveling or taking a stroll in Piraeus with your kids? Absolutely!

Families

For Families with Young Children. In Mikrolimano, the new promenade is perfect for wonderful walks where you can breathe in fresh air, see the docks with fishing boats and sailboats, ride bicycles, enjoy a cup of coffee, or dine at one of the restaurants in the area. In Pasalimani, wide sidewalks are great for strolls, with cafes and restaurants at various spots. Down by the docks, you can take boat trips with your kids. In Alexandras Square, locals take their little ones for bike rides while enjoying a view of the sea and Pasalimani - so follow their lead! Marina Zeas is also family-friendly, with cafes and restaurants for the parents, and in Marina Athens, you'll admire mega and super yachts. If you visit in the summer and want to swim at beaches within the city, note that the Votsalakia and Freattida beaches have umbrellas, sunbeds, and beach bars.

In the City Center choose Korai Square and pedestrian streets like Sotiros Dios and its perpendicular roads. Parents can shop, and kids can have snacks and ice cream while exploring. Look for cafes and restaurants with cool inner courtyards. As for parks, head to Dellaveri Park, which has a children's playground. It's named after the old Dellaveri factory, and it's been turned into an industrial monument, preserving some of the old furnaces.

For Families with Older Children. Here's a chance for your kids to take photos and videos with their mobiles during educational visits to two of the city's museums: The Hellenic Maritime Museum and the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus. The exhibits are fascinating, and they'll learn a lot about the city's ancient history and maritime heritage. To introduce them to Piraeus' coastline, treat them to good food, coffee, soft drinks, and ice cream that you can all enjoy together at Piraeus, Pasalimani, Marina Zeas, or Mikrolimano.

In Votsalakia apart from the organized beach, there are courts for beach volleyball and tennis. In the evening, you can all watch a movie at the open-air and refreshing Cine Votsalakia. Freattida Beach is also organized.
Enjoy your family time in Piraeus!
