Zeas Marina
Zeas Marina
Sitting in one of the cafes or restaurants, you can enjoy the sun and the sea view. Impressive sailboats and mega yachts from all over the world are anchoring right in front of you, while people come and go to the Hellenic Maritime Museum, located just a few meters away. You've just visited it and are still filled with images and information about the city's rich maritime tradition. Today and yesterday come together at this very spot. It's a meeting point for boat owners, Piraeus locals, and visitors, bustling with life until late at night, all year round.
Zeas Marina was part of the tourism plan of the 1960s. It envisaged transforming Pasalimani into an organized leisure boat harbor. It was shaped by the Hellenic Tourism Organization (EOT) and the studies for the marina's spaces and buildings were conducted under the supervision of the great architect Aris Konstantinidis. Simultaneously, Alexandra Square was also formed.
The port initially had a capacity of 300 boats, and the marina's buildings were completed in 1973.
Today, it is one of the largest in Attica and very popular among crews who want to travel to the Argosaronic and Aegean islands. The maximum depth is 8 meters, and it has 520 berthing positions on fixed and floating piers, capable of hosting vessels up to 150 meters in size.
The Pool
In 1970, architects Tasos and Dimitris Biri designed a recreation area with an outdoor pool in Zeas Marina, which was built in 1972. It was considered one of the most beautiful of its time. It had an open area with levels, visible concrete, and an integrated section of the Conon Wall. After 1990, alterations to the building changed its original appearance, but it continues to be interesting, popular, and offers an excellent view of the marina.
